- Be intentional, remember you are not on vacation. You are working just like before but in a different space.
- Set up rituals
- Having a routine will help you stay on track and be consistent (i.e. have a bedtime and set an alarm)
- Have start and end times to your workday, take coffee breaks, and don’t forget lunch. Having a schedule will help you focus, when it’s time to work, and rest so you can be productive
- Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner to maintain your energy levels
- Get ready like you’re going to work
- Take care of your hygiene, this will improve your physical health and you will feel better about yourself
- Get dressed just like you are going into your office, your attitude and persona is greatly controlled by your appearance. When you look good, you feel good, so you act GREAT!
- SMILE. When you smile the tone of your voice changes, you feel happier and more confident
- Say “Hi” and “Good Morning” to your co-workers. You are more isolated than you were before, so it’s critical that you get human connection, so you don’t get lonely. Reach out, have a conversation, just make sure you are in a private conversation when appropriate
- Ask for help when you need it. This is not a time to be a hero!! You are not alone so reach out for support when needed
- Remember to get exercise. Your physical health greatly controls your mental health. Go for a bike ride, stretch, or even just for a walk.
